can't sleep...so i write
Don't you hate it when you can't seem to turn off your mind?? There's nothing really bogging me down...I didn't drink coffee...I just can't stop thinking. Someone once told me if you can't go to sleep b/c you have too much on your mind, just write it down. So here it goes...
1. I would really like to run another Half. But that would require me to start running consistantly, again. Hmm. We'll see.
2. Can't wait to start teaching so then I can have a reason to go shopping for "work clothes"...first thing I'm doing is getting a LOFT card :)
3. The beach with my hubby. (I think about this often at night).
4. Returning a blouse & tights I bought from Anthro with my gift card and getting the perfume I originally wanted. I am the world's worst shopper. Which makes #2 sound pretty ridiculous.
5. Waking up to make Fern a yummy breakfast. I made my first pot of Pinto beans the other day. I'm a real MEXICAN woman, now. & running before work...brrrr, I'm getting chills just thinking about it!
Well, that's about it. See, nothing major...just can't stop thinking about stuff. Hopefully this works b/c 630 a.m. is not too long from now...
Goodnight, bloggers.

Christmas gifts

perhaps one of my most favorite gifts this year. A scarf made by my sweet and talented friend-Shanda. I know it was made with LOVE because it just makes me so happy.
I can't forget, though...the most precious gift of all. Baby Jesus. Thank you for coming into this world & changing our lives forever.
Merry Christmas, Friends!!

hope. an anchor to the soul
I love church. Especially when the message is deep. Here's some notes I took from Sunday, November 28, 2010
everyday hope is simply an optimistic attitude in an uncertain situation. Biblical hope goes beyond that-it's a God given certainty about our future...knowing that future events are in God's hands. It's not blind optimisim nor a "life will be perfect" attitude...it's simply knowing that God is with us.
Hebrews 6:17-19 "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure"
Christian hope does not neglect the bad things in life-it copes with it. It overcomes. It does not live in gloom and despair...no, it is confident in God.
Hope-it's what's up!!

A couple of weeks ago my sweet, wonderful, lovely brother-in-law decided to play a prank on me. What happened was I left myself logged on after using his laptop. Always, ALWAYS log off your username...especially if you have family members who like to be annoying. Anyways, I get home after leaving his house (I went to hang out with my nephews)I get home, get in my jammies, and watch some TV in the livingroom. Meanwhile, my phone is in my bedroom going off like crazy. I thought, who in the world is texting me?!?!? I go grab my phone and find about a million text messages from FB with comments from friends, like "Congrats!" and "OMG, I'm so happy for you!!" I had no idea what was going on. I get on my facebook and realize there was a new status update....clearly not written by me. It said, "OMG! Guess what?!!? Baby Contreras is on it's way!!"
Panic mode set in.
Within 1 minute I had about 17 comments.
Within 1 minute I was getting calls from friends..."ANA! Why didn't you tell me!!!" and "ARE YOU SERIOUS?"
Within 1 minute I got about 10 text messages from friends.
Panic MODE on full blast.
Finally, I was able to delete the update and assure everyone we were not expecting. It made me sad, though...everyone was so happy for us, and for a second I got a taste of how happy and exciting it is to have babies. Having babies is such a beautiful, God given experience...and it's EXCITING.
One day though I will be able to experience this blessing. Just have to get through this time in our lives. One day when we have our ducks in a row, and maybe a little less selfish.
In the mean time I'll enjoy the babies in my life right now. I heart you Maddy, Corrin, Aubrey, Marcello and Javi's, baby Cole, and Isaac.
xoxo
